Doxen – Privacy Policy

Overview

Doxen ("the App", "we", "our") is a fully offline document suite for Android developed by Tareshvar Mani Yadav. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

The short version: Doxen does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

No Personal Data Collected

Doxen does not collect, store, process, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII). This includes but is not limited to:

      Name · Email address · Phone number · Location data · Device identifiers · IP address · Usage statistics · Crash reports · Analytics events · Advertising identifiers
    

We have no servers. There is no backend. Your notes, PDFs, and files never leave your device under any circumstances.

Local Storage Only

All data created within Doxen — including notes, folders, exported files, and app settings — is stored exclusively on your device using Android's local storage (AsyncStorage and the internal file system).

There is no cloud sync, no backup service, and no remote database. If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted by Android.

Permissions Explained

Doxen requests only the permissions strictly necessary to operate its features. Here is exactly what each permission is used for:

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES Only requested when you use the "Images to PDF" feature. Lets you select photos from your gallery to convert into a PDF. Never accessed automatically.

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Allows you to pick PDF files from your device storage for processing. Only triggered when you explicitly tap a file picker button.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Required on older Android versions to save exported files. On Android 10+ this permission is not used.

VIBRATE Powers optional haptic feedback (vibration on button press). Can be turned off in Settings → Haptic Feedback.

      No permissions are requested at install time without user action. Location, microphone, camera, contacts, and calendar permissions are never requested.
    

Third-Party Services

Doxen does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data collection services. There are no SDKs from Google Analytics, Firebase, Crashlytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Meta, or any similar platform.

The PDF viewer feature uses PDF.js (Mozilla, open-source) loaded from a public CDN to render PDFs inside the app. This requires an internet connection for the initial script load. No user data or file content is sent to the CDN — only the script file is downloaded.

      Open-source libraries used: Expo, React Native, pdf-lib, JSZip, PDF.js, AsyncStorage. None of these libraries collect personal data.
    

Children's Privacy

Doxen does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the App collects no personal data whatsoever, it is safe for use by all ages.

Data Security

Because all data remains on your device and is never transmitted externally, the security of your data is governed by your device's own security features — screen lock, device encryption, and Android's app sandboxing.

We recommend keeping your device updated and protected with a screen lock to ensure your notes and files remain private.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date below. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Since we collect no data, any future changes will only ever be additive disclosures — never a reduction in your privacy protections.
